The Arsenal de Ferrol is the principal logistics support base for warships and naval facilities in the Cantabrian Sea Area, which spans the border between France and Portugal with Spain. Its main missions are inspecting shipbuilding, industrial maintenance management (repairs), provisioning and port services. The array comprises 240,000 m2 divided into two areas: The Arsenal Park (first construction of a military nature) and the Arsenal of Dams (industrial, where ships were built). Most of the buildings are still used today by the Navy, and all the premises are closed and guarded by military personnel, except for a small area in the arsenal of the dikes (Blacksmith building) that can be visited, as in it are the Anchor Museum, the Naval Museum and the Museum Exponav or shipbuilding. At Easter, July, August, bridges and Christmas tours promoted by the Town Hall, preregistration required tourist office, with full name and ID are organized.
